Local First is not a new concept but has never really been a common one. It is all in the name. If we support our Local Businesses we can keep them in business. If we buy locally then we are keeping locals working. If you spend $30 at your local barber then he/she may spend $10 at the local café so a good proportion of that $30 will recycle within your local community.
If you earn your money from the other side of the city try to spend more in your local area. Don’t go to the supermarket close to work go to the one close to home because the chances are locals are employed there and you can keep them working.
If you want a plumber or electrician use a local one. They probably know your neighbours and they will provide even better service because you could run in to them everyday.
If your selling your property use a local Real Estate agency. They know the area a lot better than one from across town so will have more local knowledge and passion to sell it.
I am sure you get the point.
When you go shopping look for the Local First sticker in the shop window or on the tradespersons van. These are the businesses that are proud to serve you and their Local community. If your local business doesn’t have one of these stickers then you better tell them to contact us.
Within this website we have an ever growing directory of local businesses that appreciate the Local First concept and also people like you that will use them.
Remember shop Local First and keep your Family, Friends and Neighbours Working.
